The month of June ended on a Friday. Thus we will not have the jobs report data for June until the morning of Friday July 7th.

This information, together with CPI and PPI and other data, is important in gauging the direction of interest rates.

Note the next FOMC meeting happens on July 25-26. So this coming Friday's June jobs data is the last the Fed decision makers will have before the meeting.

The above-noted June jobs data release delay has provided more than ample opportunity for wags of all sorts to jump in and fill the void:

"Wag" in the above context stands for "wild-assed guess".
