CU Organizations...

All the talk of USDAA (sounds too much like USDA, not the best acronym for a dog organization unless you like them served on your dinner plate) in the "Advantial" blog thread made me think back to some of the organizations I had to join to become a CU member.

Besides the useless ones from the CUs themselves, or the ACC (do they actually DO anything?), I think once I had to join... was it some sort of organic farming organization or something like that? Maybe others here would remember what it was, as it was for a super DA special at a CU some years ago. They were very nice, and I felt bad when it was time for renewal, as they were an actual real mom-and-pop type organization, but they seemed to understand that a lot of people had joined them just as the entryway to the CU and its CD special.

Considering the number of CUs that DAers belong to, I wonder how many "organizations" we're still members of? Perhaps the "Greater Kansas Surfing Assoc?"

What are some of the more memorable organizations you've had to join to become a CU member? (Though if you're like me, I forget all about them once I've joined the CU)
