Many thanks for your post. Wow, that is really significant news and pretty scary.

I love the way they tout their willingness to make good on any fees which might be encountered due to such attacks. Fact is, if a transaction fails to complete, fees are the least of one's concerns. Such a black mark can easily impact future ability to transact bank business in a timely manner best case. Worst case it can result in being dismissed as a customer or member.

I have just checked roughly ten of my most important CUs for online access. All seem to be up and running for now. Guess I'm fortunate and hope the good luck continues.

Sometimes farming out certain functions by a company is more secure if the company that is contracted provides quality services. I worked and still do some hourly work with a company that does outsourcing of IT. I can tell you that our processes and security protocols were better when we took over the operation from companies and the government. The problem is wirh rhe lower quality providers that cut corners or companies who internal IT is lacking.

Also, many websites and IT are handled by outside vendors like AWS (Amazon) and others.
