I spent 4 hours getting the runaround at advancial (their service department, various branhes, back and forth, online). Finally one representative told me they were supposed to fix a bug over xmas, and she was familiar with the upload bug when it asks for a copy of the back of your driver's license. 4 frustrating hours is too much. I would have appreciated it if any of the multiple representatives had told me earlier about the software problem. Hopefully the last rep will find a workaround and call me monday.

I note another issue I ran into when wanting to join and get into their 5-year CD. I wnated to list my living trust as beneficiary. I know from experience over the years, ask the questions several times to various CSRs. I did about listing my living trust as beneficiary, they all assured me no problem, I can do that, not an issue.
So I proceeded, jumped through all the boops, waited and waited for them to process, and waited more (it took several days or more), and finally the call came in. All was processed, I passed all the checks, they were ready to open it -- except. Except I listed my living trust as beneficiary. They can't add a living trust on as beneficiary, they can list only an actual person. Oh, for god's sake. I complained and told about getting assurances from everyone. I told them if I can't list my living trust as beneficiary, then I can't do any business with them. Nothing mattered, it had to be a person, can't be a trust, as I do everywhere else. It should make no difference to them, but they block it. Heck, they aren't even the ones to deal with it, it would be the NCUA dealing with it.
So, I moved on, they lost what would have been a large CD, I can't do any business with them, even after getting past that upload issue.
Lesson: Be careful about Advancial, there are issues and midguidance that could create trouble for you and get you the run arond. And the delay in processing is inexcusable, you can even lose the rate during that delay.

Question: Do they process this application on line or do I have to send them something snail mail?

If you do not hear something in 48 hours, I would call their customer service number to see where they are at. I have had good customer service luck with them. Good luck. Did you use dog agility to get membership? If so then you will need to talk to the Dallas branch, as they are the ones that process those accounts IMO.

1. I also had difficulty uploading my drivers license for several hours. So I decided to call 1-800 customer service number and the very kind and helpful CSR will direct you to the appropriate branch location . Mention to the branch representative that you are having issues uploading your drivers license ID, then they will offer you options on how to resolve this problem via email route.
2. The approval process for me was about 1 to 2 days after application processing and photo ID email route after I spoke to someone at the branch location. If you apply online , you can also call customer service to check on the status of your application too . I was surprised it was quite simple afterwards.
3. After you are approved for membership, the branch location sent me via email general information for funding and opening a CD account , etc. you can open your CD online, it’s quite simple process.
4. For me, the wiring method was the quickest and easiest way to transfer money to my Advancial account . I initiated the wire fund from my external bank in the morning and the money was successfully transferred at the end of the same business day. Once the money is in your Advancial savings or checking account, you can easily open your CD account online within a few minutes .
5. There is also a section on your banking page where you can view your beneficiary information too.
6. I hope this information is helpful .

But now I learned that Advancial will not accept wires for an ira. You have to mail them a cashier’s check from the financial institution to them. My Advancial ira is not yet established even so I might not proceed due to the lateness combined with a 6k early withdrawal fee combined with Advancial rate changes Feb 1 . If I do not use the Advancial ira by mid February Advancial closes the IRA account. They do have nice people working very hard.
