Is there a reason why DA has mysteriously deleted two threads about Alliant?
Did Alliant ask for them to be deleted?
Ken, if you are reading this, please comment on why two very much on-topic threads -- both about Alliant -- were deleted. Did Alliant reach out to you and ask that you delete them? Will this thread be deleted too?
The first was Kaight's thread in the Promos/Deals area (perhaps slightly off-topic there, but not by much), about if they should get CDs from Alliant with them about to kick out more people this year.
The second was my thread here in the Misc forum entitled something like "Alliant Yearly Membership Meeting Info Found! (for 2017)" -- a very much relavant, 100% on-topic banking thread that, as I wrote, I specifically made a separate thread so that in the future, people could more easily find it, as I posted info I dug up from 2017, back when Alliant actually INVITED their members to attend their annual members meetings, instead of trying to keep them from attending, as they do today.
With all the completely off-topic political postings on DA (that have nothing to do with banking) that are never deleted, I find it very disturbing that DA would delete two on-topic, reasonable, important threads and comments that were not only absolutely on-topic, but broke NO rules of this site instead -- and very strange, that they were both about the same banking institution (Alliant).
If I try to repost the very much on-topic information, will it be deleted again? Will this thread be deleted for bringing their deletions to light?
I would appreciate it, Ken, if you could explain why both Kaight's and my thread on Alliant were deleted. Both were on-topic, broke no rules, and were from different angles. Multiple threads about other FIs don't get deleted. Did Alliant ask you to take them down? If not, why were these two threads and their replies, specifically about Alliant, deleted?
I've sometimes been exasperated about all the off-topic political posts at DA, but have never been disappointed in DA itself until now.
