You are absolutely right, never open CD with Synchrony. I closed all the Lowes credit cards just because they are banking with Synchrony, terrible service.

Hi, I use to deal with Synchrony Bank for my IRA money when I decided to move my money at maturity it was a very slow process to get it moved to the new institution, I even had to get a Medallion signature guarantee had to be mailed to them no faxing the whole transaction took almost three weeks will never go there again. What a lesson.

The bank also owns Amazon 5% rewards Prime Store Card.

I just had a nightmare experience with the Verizon credit card through Synchrony. They stopped passing the rewards onto Verizon after a couple of years. Synchrony insisted it was a Verizon problem. Verizon said they have nothing to do with the credit card, contact Synchrony. One Synchrony CSR said he submitted a report and gave be a case reference number. I called back with the reference number only to be told that they do not give out reference numbers.

I am amazed at how Synchrony was able to train a staff to be such skilled liars. After a month of calls, I eventually got good at trapping them in their lies and got one of them to release a part of my rewards. Canceled my card after that.

Lowe's credit card with Synchrony. Get 5% off at the register and about every other month Get 10%. Never had a problem. It is the only card I swipe and has no chip.

Now the bank part of Synchrony turned me down opening a CDto ChexSystems
