Due to recent forum posts, we would like to remind everyone to please follow the comment policy for the forum.  To maintain a community where each of our members treat each other with respect we require that all visitors follow our forum and comment policy. Forum posts and comments that violate it may be deleted. Repeated offenses may result in users being banned.

-Treat Each Other With Respect. Healthy debates are encouraged but hateful comments and personal attacks will not be tolerated. This includes comments made about public officials, groups and politicians.

-Potentially Libelous.  It's ok to post bank reviews and comments but slander of individuals (including other users of the site) or businesses will be deleted.

-No Offensive Language: Please keep all conversations PG rated and refrain from using any terms that may offend some readers.

-Off Topic Information : Any content posted that is off topic or adds no value may be deleted.

We retain the sole discretion to determine which forum posts and comments violate our policy. Thank you for taking the time to read our forum and comment policy and for your posts.

"Potentially Libelous. It's ok to post bank reviews and comments but slander of individuals (including other users of the site) or businesses will be deleted."

USER POLICY REMINDER

I may be mistaken, but it sounds like the admins are restricting straightforward reviews of personal experiences with financial institutions and products. One of the strengths of this site has been the gathering of people sharing the pros & cons of dealing with individual banks/credit unions and what lies within their offerings. Useful insight for making informed money decisions. It's bad enough that the recent articles published on this site are beneath the level of a fourth grade book report, but if this forum drops to that level too then this site will be discarded into the trash as so many before it.

You should also add that anyone creating a username that is EXTREMELY close to someone else’s username, and even impersonating that other person in his posts as if he were that other person, that person will be banned. This kind of behavior started only recently and is very misleading and annoying to us, and disrespectful to the other poster.

"Any content posted that is off topic or adds no value may be deleted"
WHO is the JUDGE of that!!!?"bank-loving server" or the cartoon character depicted under"The return on your investment is $0.00" banner?

At least P_D, P_D_ and P_D__ has a devotion and dedication to its character.
IGR would rather tolerate thousand iterations of P_D than accepts the discretion of DA Moderator to sensor the Discussions by removing it in entirety.

The DISCUSSION "'We All Know Why This Site Is Dead, And It Comes Down To One Poster" is DEAD, Isn't it?!
All "bank-loving" Community has left is to make sure that "bank-loving server" is DEAD TOO because OF "THE RETURN ON INVESTMENT IS $0.00"

DA…the Phantom of the Opera…w/o any tune or who is tone deaf!

IGR isn't a musical buff, but to it recollection Phantom of the Opera has undeniable gay undertone.
by itself the reference to Webber masterpiece is a ground to post deletion according to "Policy Reminder". I'd like to see it as a "comments that violate it may be deleted" along with the entire "Comment Policy Reminder" Discussion??? based on the history of policy enforcement.
Suddenly, PDs as agitators are not the threat.
Suddenly, we do "All Know Why This Site Is Dead" and it does NOT "Comes Down To One Poster". It is LendingTree's ignorant attempt to moderate DA Discussions.
Suddenly, IGR aligns with P_D. I want to see more P_D's comments that may be deemed: "-Off Topic Information : Any content posted that is off topic or adds no value may be deleted."
Just enough to have Discussions like "Comment Policy Reminder" to be DELETED from the Forum.
P_D who declared itself a public person with the reputation of the value and made a gender biased threat to take a legal action against "him" without any evidence that it could be her or it or undeclared.
IGR is now ally of P_D for the sake of having the discussions.
IGR now rather see DA DEAD!!!

I echo Carpline…give us the leadership and points of contact!  What are “you” hiding from?  Run but can’t hide!  And only 3 posts since 2009…go back into hibernation!  In fact legitimate management would require legitimate (redundant intended) names for posts including DA!  By allowing “fake” names makes DA the leader of all this ….nonsense!

This is ridiculous! It's called freedom of speech! Our 45th and 47th President Mr. Donald J. Trump would never tolerated this. I really hope the he is able to get his political retribution starting with DA! Hopefully this time they will not steal the election from him and he will have a strong VP to not certify an undemocratic election! I stand with Donald and Melania.

Ali and New Management/Editorial Team: Welcome to Deposit Accounts. As a long-time reader, and as a freelance writer for a major magazine, I'd like to make a few suggestions that I think will be mutually helpful to the leadership and readership.
1) Please introduce yourselves. All of us have come to know and appreciate Ken Tumin over the last 18 years or so. Please let us know who you are, what your background is, how you happened to come to DA/LendingTree, and your hopes and goals for the website.
2) Get to know your readers. Please consider posting some articles inviting readers to share what is most important to them with respect to content. Finding out what newer and longtime readers want to read will help rather than detract from your SEO endeavors.
3) Invite feedback and suggestions. I have worked with some of the best editors in the country. Each one of them is not only highly competent, but also humble, and open to recommendations and suggestions from the readership. The major magazine that I write for always has a question at the end of their online articles asking the readership for feedback on current articles and also inquires about ideas for future articles.
3) Please sign your posts. It is fine and helpful to post site rules, norms, and guidelines. Why would you not post your name and role when you make a post? Doing so adds gravitas, credibility, and connection with your readers. For example a brief post stating, "Hi, I am the new senior editor, and want to ask a favor of our readers: Please keep your posts topic-relevant and avoid personal attacks. Much Appreciated, Ali C" or something to that effect.
4) Please allow responses to blog posts. Readers learning from one another, and having the opportunity to make suggestions, corrections, etc, has always been one of the most valuable aspects of DA.
Thank you in advance for your consideration of these suggestions! Please take what is helpful, and leave the rest. Best Regards, KCfield

Your suggestions are valid, however the title of their latest informative post is (drum roll, please...) "How to Open A Bank Account".

https://www.depositaccounts.com/blog/open-a-bank-account.html

Well, folks, it's been real. I'm sorry to say goodbye, and I maybe I'll stop by once a month, but I just don't need to go back to Kindergarten. Thank you, Ken, for all that you've done for us. LongTimeDAFan... OUT!

Hold on there ShortTimeDAFan,

You need to give the article a chance.

It includes:
-How to open an account blindfolded and with one arm tied behind your back
-How to open an account in Botswana
-How to open an account for your dog

Ok then. You had no idea how to do any of that.

Just go ahead and apologize and move on.
