New. Rate Table Pages Live Again

This morning, July 24, we relaunched the new rate table experience. After reviewing the feedback and suggestions we received, we made a few additional changes based off the suggestions.

One change we've made is adding early withdrawal penalties to the CD pages. Due to the difficulty in finding that information on many bank and credit union sites, we do not have an early withdrawal penalty for all products listed. Still, we have early withdrawal penalties for over 10,000 different CDs from 1800+ banks and credit unions.

We appreciate your help with making the page and filter a better user experience.

To hard to navigate! Liked the old experience much better. After years of use, I will will now probably refrain.
If it ain't broke, why try unneeded fix?

I realize change for some it difficult, but I for one dislike the new format, and am extremely disappointed simple things like the "View Archive" at the bottom of the "Bank Deals Blog" page does not work.

In my opinion, based on changes here at DA since May 2024, if your goal to reduce your page views and lower your readership, I think you will success giving the trajectory you are on.

Congratulations, you are continuing to make DA worthless and useless.

"Due to the difficulty in finding that [early withdrawal penalty] information on many bank and credit union sites ..." Ken never seemed to have a problem finding the early withdrawal penalty info for his blog posts on individual deals. You remember those very popular and helpful blog posts that you replaced with ridiculous "educational" articles written for mouth-breathers.

Thank you for including the Early withdrawal penalties when they're available.

Ken listed them not every single time, but most of the time.

For what it's worth, when the penalty info couldn't easily be found on a place's website, he'd simply call them up to get that information. We know this, because in his blogs about the deals and places, he'd always mention his penalty information came from him calling them up, and that a CSR told him the penalty would be "XX" -- and then that number would be entered into the tables.

We understand that with DA not being Ken's anymore, those keeping the tables may not have the time to do this like Ken anymore. However if a rate looks good and you do have a bit of time, that's a quick way to find out that info -- and banks usually don't change their penalty policies all that often.

Thanks again for including the penalty info!

Appreciate what you are trying to do but the old way I thought was much better.
I liked the way where we could could switch local, to state and then to nationwide or any. Now when I type in nationwide it says nationwide only but in the past if I put my state and nationwide it seemed to leave out institutions that would not allow people from my state to join. What is the difference between nationwide and any now? Why can't we have both banks and credit unions as before for nationwide. Also local, or state, or nationwide can't be searched all together with banks and credit union. Local and state and nationwide are not the same that can be searched for everyone. In the past it seemed if I put in my state and nationwide anything nationwide would not bring up an institution that did not allow my state to get an account with them. Some places are for certain regions.
The old way was working well and know this is a hit and miss thing and you are trying to please everyone but why change it when it seemed to be working perfectly? I don't remember anyone complaining with the old way. Not criticizing but have so many questions. And wonder why you are doing this and seem to be wasting your time while trying to make something that was working better for some reason and failing so far.. Can we just go back to the way it was to fit the service you use? Or use the service or network Ken used? Also miss Ken's blogs. Can you get him back to do at least do the ones on Wednesday?
to do them? Not being critical but just full of questions and WHY?

I do appreciate you emailing me Ken's blog but do you realize this was posted
over a month ago? Ken did a long blog every Wednesday and sent an email every morning if you signed up for it. Other days we were sent over night rates changes or ones that were apt to be made in a few days. We miss this special touch. We know that you are the new owners and want to put your touch on this blog but the ones you are making seem not to be in the same interest as your users. Do appreciate the deletions and thank you for that. This blog is about getting the best earnings on your money, ways to save money that can help others, and hints about other banking institutions and their special perks which can help others to make the best decision for their situation. That is the way it was used in the past. If you have different parameters please print them or let us know what they are and if you have posted them. Thank you for taking suggestions and allowing us to express our thoughts.

Who could think that "Best CD Rates" is neither aggregate or representation of underlying "X Month CD" tables?
Keep trying.
The Purpose is lost, the Focus is lost and the Control is lost.
It is about the time for DA/LT to realize that the audience won't last.

Could you please add back the FI's logo next to the name in the list. It makes it much easier to see moves up and down the lists through the logo's for those that check certain terms normally.

These tables, and the filters, are garbage. Why can't I just get nationwide and all local to me in a single list? Why do I have to tell my location, but then pick either nationwide OR local?!

When I put in my location and said credit unions (why can't I get both credit unions and banks in a single sort?) and to include local credit unions, it gave me locals from 3,000 miles away that you must actually be local to join! What?!

All these charts do now is waste my time with garbage! This, like everthing else that has been done here, is shocking beyond belief.

This was the only thing left at this site that might be helpful, and now it, too, is garbage. The incompetence of the people running this Website now is beyond description, no one would believe it. How coud you possibly put this up as if it were usable, do the people at this site have no shame?! And it definitely is not relaible. It would be a crime for this Website to still be up a week from now -- it is a crime it is up now at all, at this point.

There is another place I have found, still building, but at least what they are buidling on is good info -- including listings of top rates. Oh, it has a ways to build, but so far it is doing it right, not wrong like this site. It is at:

UPDATE: We are aware the Best CDs rate table is only showing 3 month CDs. We are working on a solution for the issue and will deploy the fix as soon as we can. We understand this is an important page to the site and it's disappointing that the page isn't working correctly. We apologize for the problems this may cause and will update everyone once the issue is resolved.

The issue with the best CD page has been fixed. It now shows all CDs regardless of term length, from highest to lowest APY already set as the default filter. If a location is entered into the filter, the results will include all CDs available for that area, including those available from a local institution or available to open online.

THANK YOU for being attentive to your readers and what they like.
So glad that this format will work with what you use.

The CD rate charts are pretty useless now. The filters are not what they are supposed to be, instead they are stupid.

When I sort for all banks, credit unions, and include online and include local, and fill in, my state, I am not asking for all banks and credit unions in the country — but that is what I am getting, even though the rates I see way too often are not available to me. That’s because they are only for those living in a certain location, not my state, or otherwise have policies that limit who can open an account there. This issue applies to all credit unions, but also to some or many banks. If your filter isn’t doing that, then it is stupid, it isn’t doing anything. The old version did that. Yes, there surely was a lot of time and effort put into building all that into the CD rates charts.

If you present ALL banks and ALL credit unions, you are not filtering! I do want to see all the national banks and CUs that I can join or open an account at — but not all the others. If a branch visit is required, then it is not nationally available, it is local, unless they have a breach everywhere; if they otherwise will not take account from outside a certain area or state, then it is local. But I’m getting too many places that are limited is such ways. You need to make that filter so it is all banks and credit unions that are easy access to anyone across the country! How could you not understand this, did you ever look at this website before you screwed it up royally?

I don’t want a list that wastes my time clicking into the listings only to find I can’t even get an account at the places you list, despite filtering! And no one can get an account at a financial institution that does not accept anyone from where they live or have other rules that give people a way to qualify for an account. This is always the case with CUs, but it is the case with many banks too, mostly the smaller ones. For instance, many banks will require you go into their branch to open your account, which isn’t very possible if you live 2,000 miles from them.

It appears that you never appreciated all the work put into building this Website, and these CD charts, all the details it got on top of. You don’t even appreciate the treasure you had, you instead are throwing out the good stuff and substituting your garbage.
