These featured CDs are not DepositAccounts rate leaders, but they do provide a higher rate than the conventional CDs offered in the big four bank product line. The rates (APY) listed below were valid as of 8/14/2024. I doubt the Bank of America 13-month CD will remain at 5.00% very much longer.

Bank of America: 13-month Featured CD @ 5.00% and 7-month Featured CD @ 5.00%

Wells Fargo: 4-month Special Fixed Rate Relationship CD @ 5.01%

Citi: 6-month CD @ 4.65%

Chase: 3-month Relationship CD @ 4.75% ($100k minimum) [for less than $100k the interest rate is 4.25%]

The rates that these banks offer typically vary by location. The rates listed above were based on the location of the bank’s headquarters.

Bank of America headquarters is located at 100 N Tryon St., Charlotte, NC 28202. To view the rates of Bank of America CDs in your region, see: https://www.bankofamerica.com/deposits/bank-cds/featured-cd/

For liquid savings (that you can add to) with a locked 12 month rate, Wells Fargo has a promotion on their Platinum Savings that locks in your rate at 4.60% APY for 12 months. Minimum is $25,000 new money to open. Promotion ends tomorrow, August 20, 2024.

I saw it posted at my local Wells Fargo Branch and talked to a banker about it Friday. He told me it ends Tuesday, tomorrow and could be renewed at a lower rate later this week. Do you have a Wells branch near you? I took a pic of it and could send it to you directly, but if you want to do over the phone, you probably have to talk to a banker, and I think they send a code to your phone

Yes there is one right around the corner from me. I will head over there shortly and ask about it. Thanks for the response

Of course it compounds daily, posts monthly and you can even write checks from the account and if savings rates were to really drop by early next year, you can throw your other liquid cash or matured cd's in it and earn a good rate, safe money until August of 2025.

You can also look into Poppy Bank paying 5.5% and a 3 month guarantee.

As expected, Bank of America lowered the rates of their Featured CDs. Their 13-month Featured CD is now 4.00% (was 5.00%) and their 7-month Featured CD is now 4.80% (was 5.00%). Their 10-month Featured CD remains unchanged at 4.70%.

Also, Wells Fargo lowered the rate of their 4-month Special Fixed Rate Relationship CD. It is now 4.76% (was 5.01%). Their 7-month Special Fixed Rate Relationship CD remains unchanged at 4.51%.

The rates (APY) listed above were based on the location of the bank’s headquarters.
