On 10/25/2024 Ken posts:

“After more than 5 weeks since the Fed rate cut, many online banks continue to offer online savings accounts with APYs of 5% to 5.25%. Their rates will eventually fall, but here are 6 that have held their yields at 5%+ for at least the last year:”

Ken then lists the 6 online banks: Newtek Bank, Vio Bank, BrioDirect, Ivy Bank, My Banking Direct, and CFG Bank

On 11/1/2024 Ken posts an update:

“Here’s an update on the APYs of the above 6 online savings accounts. Only 3 now have 5%+ APYs. Newtek Bank: 5.25% Vio Bank: 4.90% (-15 bps) BrioDirect: 5.00% (-5 bps) Ivy Bank: 5.00% My Banking Direct: 4.85% (-15 bps) CFG Bank: 4.90% (-10 bps)”

Everbank Performance Savings is 5.05% for new accounts.

Remember to ask you banking institution to match high rates.
Mine did it again though this time. Takes a few minutes to go to the
branch to ask.
Think it is another year before the new rules for transferring accounts will start.
It will be much easier to transfer accounts and all DD and payments
will transfer automatically also. Not sure if it just for banks or banks
and credit unions. Assume we will read more about it as the time gets
closer.

Most of those acc. will be short term cds sorry to say. Now with Trump president all will go down fast
