Major Software Outages Today At Various CUs And Banks

There are major outages today at various CUs and Banks. When I called a CU that was having issues I was told it's a problem with one of their vendors and it's nationwide.

Sure enough, it is. Multiple FIs I deal with are experiencing problems with their online banking systems today (some put up notices on their website). Some are working fine but many are having issues/outages.

Doing a quick news search, I see Zelle is also having issues, as well as major FIs like CitiBank, BofA, etc.

Fiserv, one of the largest backend service providers in the U.S. financial system, with 10,000 customers, began experiencing issues early Friday morning, with problems escalating by 7 a.m. ET.

So be aware, multiple FIs are having issues with online banking today.

I assume Ally Bank is part of this. All linked external bank accounts disappeared from my Ally account this morning. Tried to chat but said wait time was over an hour so I figured it must be a larger bank issue and not specific to my account. Fortunately, my external transfer can wait until next week.

My external bank accounts at Ally have all been restored.

@racecar: Thanks for posting this. I'm unable to connect to one of my banks, which I noticed early this morning, but had no idea it was a nationwide problem.
