Hi all,

I would like to know the date that the early withdrawal penalty for a 60 month cd changed from 180 days to 360 days.

I don't want to identify myself to them and ask this question, and their anonymous chat online doesn't know the answer.

Does anyone know the answer? It will help me resolve a problem I am having with them.

Thank you.

I am unsure of the exact date of this change but if you have the terms and conditions from when you opened your CD it should say 180 days EWP and GTE will need to honor those terms from when your CD was first opened. I think this change happened in December of 2024 not sure what exact date though.

Thank you deplorable. I opened it in March 2025. I could not find the Ewp on the website and the customer service person repeatedly assured me it was 180. Then the cd when I received it said 360. Then the customer service person said she wii ou ils change it to 180. Then the customer service person said it would stay at 360. Yesterday I printed all the emails I have and sent them to the ceo of gte.
