Having a good amount in a MM, that is guarenteed to earn a guaranteed rate for certain period of time and close to you is a prudent thing to have during these uncertain times.

Encouraging to see American Express join Morgan Stanley Bank and Morgan Stanley Private Bank in the 4.25%, 5-year brokered CD arena.

And those non-callable, new-issue 5-year brokered CD's offered at Charles Schwab brokerage by Morgan Stanley Bank and Morgan Stanley Private Bank just increased from 4.25% to 4.30%!

And let us hope that Wells Fargo Bank (penalty box asset cap removed) will now compete again on 5-year brokered CD's with AMEX, MSB, and MSPB.
My last WF 5-year brokered CD purchase is now around a 3-year.
Looking to add more WF monthly coupons in the near future. :)

Kirkland I like those Wells Fargo monthly coupons as well. I saw at Fidelity WF had some competitive 9 month and 1 year CD's that pay at maturity but have not seen anything longer than that so far.
