7.00% 7-Month CD at a Pennsylvania CU - $10K Max (A-K Valley).

A-K Valley Federal Credit Union is offering a special 7-month certificate with a yield of 7.00% APY. The minimum deposit is $1,000, and the maximum is $10,000 per member. New money is required. The offer ends on July 7, 2007.

The $10K cap is better than most of these kinds of teaser-rate CDs. With $10K, you'll earn about $115 over what you would earn in a 5% account.

Field of membership includes those who live, work, worship, go to school in Pittsburgh and several other townships and communities. You can also be eligible to join via Select Employee Groups and via family (not just immediate family). See site for details. Membership requires a minimum deposit of $50 into the savings account.

Branches are located in Lower Burrell, Natrona Heights and Pittsburgh, PA. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 324). It has $52.2 million in assets and 10,770 members.

It was really a great promotion. Their new office is beautiful & this was a great way to get people in to learn about what credit unions are.
