First Tennessee Bank is offering a $100 bonus for opening any of their checking accounts which includes their free checking. The minimum deposit is $500. You must present a copy of the promo page at a branch to receive the bonus. The offer expires on November 30, 2007.

Some other details of this promotion include: Deposit money must be new to the bank. Bonus is only for new checking households. Limit one bonus per household. Account must remain open for a minimum of 6 months. A check for the bonus will be mailed to account holder 5-6 weeks after account opening, and will be reported as income on Form 1099-INT.

The Free Checking has no monthly service charge and no monthly required balance. Online bill pay is free if you enroll in online monthly statements. It looks like they don't supply any free checks, so be sure to check the price of this and if it's automatically charged to your account.
