New $100 PNC Checking Account Promotion

PNC Bank is offering a new $100 cash bonus for opening a personal checking account with direct deposit. The first $50 is credited within 7 days of the first direct deposit. The second $50 is credited after 6 months of monthly direct deposits. Minimum direct deposit amount is $500 by an employer. Here's the promotional page link. Offer only available to new PNC Bank checking account customers. The checking accont must be opened between 8/12/07 and 8/25/07.

The above promo link is the same one PNC used for their last $100 bonus that I reported on in July. That old one ended in July. It didn't require direct deposit, but required lots of check card purchases and/or online bill payments.

Free Checking qualifies for this promo. This requires a minimum $25 initial deposit. It has no monthly fees or minimum balance requirements. Bill Pay is free. I was told by the banking rep that the first 30 checks are free. A reader in my last PNC post mentioned that the check card has a $10 annual fee. Looking over the fee documenation, I see that a banking card linked to a checking account does have a $10/year fee. However, the PNC Bank Visa Check Card has no charge.

This offer might require a branch visit. Please call PNC (1-888-PNC-BANK) for the full details. Branches are located in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Virginia, Kentucky, New Jersey, Ohio, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. The bank is FDIC insured (FDIC Certificate # 6384).

Thanks to the reader who emailed me info on this new bonus

when is PNC posting credits under the previous promotion? I've made several Visa check card purchases, but have yet to see any credits. Supposed to earn $1 per Visa transaction up to $100.
