5.35% Money Market Account Promotion at a Chicago/Milwaukee Bank (Ridgestone)

Ridgestone Bank is offering 5.35% APY on its money market account guaranteeed through 12/31/07 with a minimum balance of $40,000. A reader mentioned that this was advertised in yesterday's Chicago Tribune. The rate is also listed in the rate table (links on bottom left of home page).

It was a better deal last April when it was 5.50% guaranteed through December. Nevertheless, the 5.35% is still a good deal and with the threat of lower rates, the guaranteed rate is a plus.

A branch visit is required to open an account. Branches are located in Schaumburg, Illinois and Brookfield, Wisconsin. The bank is FDIC insured (Certificate # 34101).
