First Florida Credit Union is offering a special 5.35% APY 12-month certificate. The minimum deposit is $2,500, and the maximum deposit is $100,000. Funds must be new to the credit union. One unique feature is that interest for the entire term is paid upfront. In 28 days after opening, the interest is deposited into your savings account.
The credit union also has a checking account bonus in which you can earn up to $150 cash. The $150 bonus requires direct deposit of at least $1,500.01. Smaller bonuses are available for smaller direct deposit amounts. The free checking does qualify, and it has no minimum balance requirements or monthly service fees. The direct deposit must continue for 12 months. Please note one potential fee is the online bill pay. If there are fewer than 3 bills per month paid, a $5.95 per month fee applies.
Membership is open to anyone who lives or works in the following Florida counties: Baker, Broward, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Leon, Orange, Hillsborough, Miami-Dade, Nassau, Seminole or St. Johns. Please see the credit union's About page for more info.
Branches are located in the Florida cities of Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Orlando, Miami, Pembroke Park, and in Atlanta, Georgia. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 61170). It has $310.1 million in assets and 56,999 members.
