$100 Checking Account Bonus at Guaranty Bank
Dec 17, 2007 - 6:29 PM by Ken Tumin
Guaranty Bank is offering up to $100 for opening its Free & Easy Checking. The following is required:
The promotion ends on 12/31/07. It doesn't seem to be listed at their website. A reader mentioned this in the comments, and I called for further details. According to the CSR, they only do a ChexSystem check with no hard credit inquiry (Note, CSRs are often wrong on this). A branch visit is required.
I also asked about their Savings PayBack program which I first reported on in August. This allows you to earn $100/year by setting up monthly automatic transfers from your Guaranty checking to your Guaranty savings account. The CSR indicated that this program was no longer available. However, it's still on their website here. If you do go for the $100 checking bonus, you may want to also ask about this Savings PayBack program.
Guaranty Bank has over 175 branches, many in grocery stores, in five states including Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, and Georgia (see branch locator). The bank is FDIC insured (FDIC Certificate # 30003).
Thanks to the reader who mentioned this promotion in the finding-the-best-deals post.
- The first $50 is awarded after 3 consecutive direct deposits of $75 or more
- The second $50 is awarded after paying 3 bills using their Preferred BillPay before 1/31/08

I would assume that the direct deposit requires $75 or more PER direct deposit? Damn... Don't think I can pull that off in time

Yes, I believe it is $75 per each direct deposit.

When they say direct deposit, can it be from my own accounts or does it have to be from work?
