$100 Checking Account Bonus at a Washington State CU (Sound)

Sound Credit Union is offering a special $100 bonus for opening a new checking account and either having direct deposit OR an active checking account. A reader reported being told that an active checking just requires that the account be used each month (bill pay, deposit/withdrawal, etc.). The bonus will be deposited after direct deposit is established or if you have an active checking account in good standing after 30 days. The offer ends on April 30, 2008.

The free checking account has the typical features like no monthly service charges and free bill pay. It also has some above-average features like free checks for life and one free overdraft a year.
