3.92% 12-Month / 4.07% 24-Month CD at a Texas CU (NavyArmy)


Update 3/29/08: The CD rates have fallen. The new yields for a $10K minimum for the 12 and 24-month terms are 3.92% APY and 4.07% APY. The title has been modified to reflect this change.

NavyArmy Federal Credit Union is listing some competitive certifcate rates. These include a 4.07% APY 6 and 9-month CD, a 4.23% APY 12-month CD and a 4.33% APY 24-month CD. The 6 and 9-month terms have a minimum deposit of $1,000. The longer terms require a $10,000 minimum. The longer terms also have $1,000 and $75,000 minimums for yields 5 basis points lower and higher. The IRA certificate rates are even more competitive: 4.96% APY 24-month IRA CD and a 4.80% APY 12-month IRA CD.

Membership is open to those who live, work, worship or attend school in one of the following Texas counties: Aransas, Bee, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Nueces and San Patricio. Membership requires a $10 membership fee and a minimum deposit of $25 in the savings account.

Branches are located in the Texas cities of Corpus Christi, Kingsville, Beeville, Portland and Rockport. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 9998). It has $562.8 million in assets and 58,060 members.
