Advantis Credit Union Offers Up To 3.75% APY On 60-Month CD

POSTED ON BY

Deal Summary: 60-month High-Growth CD, 3.50% APY ($100k), 3.25% APY ($50k), 3.00% ($500); bonus rates: additional 10 bps with $10k of new money or 25 bps with $25k of new money .

Availability: Residents of 24 Oregon counties and all of Washington State.

Oregon-based Advantis Credit Union (Advantis) is currently offering tiered rates on its 60-month High-Growth CD, with a $100k minimum deposit earning 3.50% APY. The other rates available on the 60-month are 3.25% APY ($50k minimum) and 3.00% ($500 minimum).

As DA reader, Alsakar, noted in a Forum post, Advantis has two Special Offer Bonus Rates, which are available on any certificate term. Both Bonus Rates require new money: a minimum $10k deposit of new money adds an additional 10 bps, with an additional 25 bps added for a minimum $25k deposit of new money. “New money” is defined as “funds that have not been on deposit with Advantis before the date of account opening.”

Add To Your CD

All the High-Growth CDs have unlimited additional deposits any time throughout the term.

There are NO limits when you Add-To your CD in-branch, by phone, or through secure email.

  • Online Banking Transfers: Currently, on external transfers via Online Banking, there is a $10,000 daily and $20,000 monthly Add-To limit.
  • Balance Considerations: If your additional deposits elevate your balance into a higher CD rate level, your rate of return will remain fixed at the rate associated with your initial deposit for the length of your initial term. Then, when you choose to renew your CD, you’ll automatically receive that new rate in the higher CD level.

The Early Withdrawal Penalty for High-Growth CDs with terms of 3 years or greater is 270 days of interest.

You may cash in your Certificate of Deposit (CD) early but you will have to pay an early withdrawal penalty. You may also withdraw part of your funds; you will only pay penalty on the amount you are withdrawing.

Thanks to DA reader, Alsakar, for sharing this great deal on DepositAccounts.com.

Advantis Credit Union’s Reward Checking - Long History of Top Rates

BancVue makes the case that high-yield reward checking accounts like the Kasasa Cash account are a win-win relationship between the bank and the customer. If that’s the case, reward checking accounts should be sustainable for the long-term. The best evidence of this are reward checking accounts that have a long history of top rates and reasonable balance caps. One example is the Fusion Checking at Advantis Credit Union. I first reported on this account in 2007 when it had a yield of 6.25% with no balance cap. The rate has...

Rare Reward Checking Rate Hike at Advantis Credit Union in Oregon

With so many banks and credit unions cutting their reward checking rates, I thought it would be a nice change to highlight a credit union which did the opposite. On July 1st Advantis Credit Union increased the top rate of its reward checking account (called Fusion Checking) from 2.00% to 3.00% APY. This rate continues to apply to balances up to $25,000. The portion of the balance over $25,000 earns 0.20%. These rates are earned only if the monthly requirements are met. If they're not met, the rate falls to...
