4.60% 15-Month / 4.25% 7-Month CD at a Florida Bank (Century).

Update 8/08/08: The special CD rates have changed a little. The 13-month CD yield has gone down from 4.55% to 4.25% APY. However, the 15-month CD remains at 4.60% APY. The title has been modified to reflect this change.
Century Bank is offering several attractive CD rates. These include a 4.25% APY 7-month CD, a 4.35% APY 9-month CD, a 4.50% APY 12-month CD, a 4.55% APY 13-month CD and a 4.60% APY 15-month CD. The minimum deposit is $500.
It appears the bank requires a branch visit to open a new account. Branches are mostly located in Southwest Florida in the cities of Sarasota, Parrish, Bradenton and Venice. There's also one location in Southeast Florida in Pompano Beach.
Like many banks in Florida, it has some weak financial health ratings: 2 stars (problematic) at BauerFinancial and 1 star (lowest) at Bankrate.com. Both are based on 3/31/08 data. As I recommend with any bank, it's best to stay below the FDIC limits (see post). The bank has been FDIC insured since 1985 (FDIC Certificate # 32267).
