Competitive Long-Term CD Rates at Roma Bank - Available in NJ & Parts of PA
Roma Bank is offering several competitive CD rates. Two of the best include a 3.50% APY 60-month CD and a 2.25% APY 24-month CD. Minimum deposit is $1,000. These rates are listed at the bank's CD page as of the morning of 4/07/2010.
Above the rate table at the bank's CD page, it has a link to the application that can be mailed. However, it states that applicants must reside in the State of New Jersey or in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
Branches are located in the New Jersey cities of Trenton, Lawrence Township, Pennington, Bordentown, Burlington, Columbus, Cream Ridge and Manchester Township.
The bank's ratings for safety and soundness are strong: 5 stars (superior) at BauerFinancial (based on 12/31/09 data) and 4 stars (sound) at Bankrate.com (based on 9/30/09 data). The bank has been a FDIC member since 1950 (FDIC Certificate # 30041).
Thanks to the reader who emailed me news of these rates.
Best CD Rates
Is 2.25% APY for 2 years competitive? Unfortunately, it is. The highest APY at Bankrate for a 2-year CD is 2.06%. For a 5-year CD, the highest APY is 3.44% (at EverBank). You can find higher rates in the CD rates section of DepositAccounts.com (with new & improved format!).
