WesBanco Bank is offering a checking account bonus of up to $220. It will take some time and work to get the full $220. Here's the direct link to the promotion. The promotion is scheduled to last until December 31, 2010. A branch visit is required.
Qualifying for the first $100 isn't too bad. It requires opening a new consumer checking account and establishing a recurring direct deposit of at least $100. The bonus will be credited to your account after the second direct deposit is credited within 90 days of account opening.
To receive $120 on top of the $100 requires some time and work. Here's the description provided by WesBanco:
Use your new debit card for only one purchase within 90 days of opening your new checking account and receive your first $10 bonus. Then, in each of the next eleven calendar months following the month in which the first purchase occurred, you’ll receive a $10 bonus each month when at least 20 debit card point-of-sale purchases are made. The bonuses will be credited to your account within 5 days of the end of the month in which the qualifying purchases were made.
WesBanco does offer a free checking account which has no minimum balance requirements or monthly fees. Online Bill Pay is free.
