Flushing Bank is again offering a $150 checking account bonus for opening its Totally Free Checking. They made it a little easier than the 2010 promotion to qualify for the $150. The new requirements include:
- $75 for 5 debit card transactions of $25 or more, AND
- $75 for 5 bill pays online of $25 or more OR for recurring Direct Deposit of $250
Here's the link to the promotions page. The offer is scheduled to last until March 31, 2011, but it is subject to change. It appears that a branch visit is required. In addition to the Totally Free Checking, the BestRate Checking also qualifies. The downside with the BestRate Checking is a $10 monthly fee unless you maintain a $5K balance. This Flushing checking comparison page has a good summary of the two checking accounts.
Below is the small print of the offer:
New (retail) customers who open a NEW Totally Free or BestRate Checking account with the required $100 minimum opening balance, will receive a free Flushing Bank tote bag. Limit one per household. Limited time only while supplies last. Offer subject to change and early termination without prior notice at any time.
New checking account with new money only. New money is defined as money not currently on deposit with Flushing Bank. This offer is limited to one checking account per household. Each debit card purchase must be $25 or more. Online Bill-payments, Debit Card Purchases and Direct Deposits must be completed prior to 60 days after the end of the promotion. THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT ANY CUSTOMER CAN RECEIVE IS $150. The promotion compensation will be credited to the checking account on or about 75 days after the promotion ends. Promotion ends on March 31, 2011.
