Top Long-Term CD Rates at Harbor Federal Credit Union in Southern California - Limited Membership

POSTED ON BY

Harbor Federal Credit Union

Harbor Federal Credit Union is offering some competitive 2-, 3- and 4-year CD rates. The most competitive are the Jumbo CD rates that require a minimum deposit of $100,000. These rates include 2.53% APY for 4 years, 2.17% APY for 3 years and 1.51% APY for 2 years. Lower rates are listed for smaller deposits of $50K, $10K and $1K. These rates are listed in the credit union’s rates page as of 5/26/2011.

The credit union has its headquarters in Carson in the suburbs of Los Angeles. Unfortunately, the credit union doesn’t offer a community-wide membership. So many in the LA area may not be able to qualify. The credit union’s Who Can Join page lists several companies and organizations which can make you eligible to join.

The credit union has an overall health score at DepositAccounts.com of 3 stars (out of 5) with a Texas Ratio of 15.49% (average) based on December 2010 data. Please refer to our financial overview of Harbor Federal Credit Union for more details. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 5593).

How It Compares to the Best Nationally Available CDs

Harbor FCU’s Jumbo 4-year CD rate is a little higher than the best nationally available 4-year CD rate of 2.45% APY ($25K min) at Alliant Credit Union. Harbor FCU’s 2-year and 3-year CD rates are not quite as competitive. You can find nationally available rates for those terms that are a little bit higher.

To search for the best CD rates in your state or in the nation, please refer to the CD rates section of DepositAccounts.com. Be sure to use the "Filter Accounts" button above the table to compare accounts in your state.
