Citibank Arrests Customers For Trying To Close Accounts

NEW YORK - Customers of Citibank were arrested over the weekend after trying to close down their bank accounts.

Twenty-three customers of Citibank allegedly found themselves under arrest after being locked in the bank at 555 La Guardia Place, New York by security guards who even forced legitimate Citibank customers going about their daily business back into the bank.

Shorebreak, I am not sure Citibank is to blame for what happened here. It seems these people were protesting and looking to cause trouble in the bank. If they were deliberatively trying to be disruptive, Citicorp may have acted correctly. I don't know this for sure, but it does seem like these people had an ulterior motive for being in the bank, and were there to do a lot more than just close their accounts. BTW, this may be the first time I have ever defended Citicorp; I am one of their greatest critics.
