Florida Telco Credit Union has competitive certificate rates on terms from 6 months to 5 years. The highest yield is 4.55% APY for a 12-month term. The minimum deposit is $500. The yield for longer terms up to 5 years is 4.50% APY. The yield is 4.55% APY for a minimum deposit of $50,000.

My last report on this credit union was in November 2007 when they were offering a 5.50% 3 and 6 month CDs.

Membership is open to those who live or work in the Florida counties of Duval, Clay, St. Johns, Nassau, Baker, Columbia, Union, Bradford, Alachua, Putnam, or Flagler. Please refer to their Membership page for more details. Membership requires a $5 fee and a minimum deposit of $5 in the share savings account. The savings account has a monthly fee unless your combined balance of all accounts is at least $500.

Branches are located in Jacksonville and Orange Park, FL. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 61605). It has $409.5 million in assets and 41,106 members.
