A New Adventure.

My wife and I closed on our refi with Adventure Credit Union last week and we couldn’t be happier with the whole process. After a quick review of our situation Eric was able to suggest one of Adventure's mortgage options that not only had a lower interest rate but was able to remove the high fees we were paying for mortgage insurance (PMI).

Adventure’s in-house underwriting was equally helpful in getting us the right mortgage and it won’t be sold off to some unknown firm in New Whatever.

We have only been members of Adventure Credit Union for a year or two but they now have our checking, savings, a personal loan, an auto loan and mortgage.

We highly recommend Adventure Credit Union for your Michigan craft banking needs.

Lifetime Of Great Experiences, Great Rates, Great Management, Family Friendly

I've been a member of this credit union since it was called Bell Com Credit union back in the mid-80's.  They gave me my first job while in high school and have treated my family with the utmost respect and kindness.

With deep gratitude to the staff and leadership I am proud to write about my wonderful 25 years of experience with this credit union.  We have since moved out of state and continue our relationship and wouldn't change it for the world.

I've personally spoken to leadership in the past couple of years and was struck with how caring they are given the new world of foreclosures and high unemployment we live in.  Needless to say, we will be members for years to come and are proud to be.

Thank you Option 1 for blessing my family in so many ways for 25+ years.  This kind of relationship is second to none for us.

An Adventure For Sure!

DO NOT do business here. I had a car loan thru another credit union and it was either changed to Adventure or taken over by them. I was unaware of an outstanding balance of $588 (my auto deductible +??? when my car was totaled). I had no idea I owed this amount. Adventure claims they notified me in April of 2016 of this outstanding balance. I never received that notice. They never called (I have had the same phone number for many years) or sent any other notice. Then out of nowhere something shows up on my credit report in Sept 2021! FIVE YEARS LATER! The money that I never knew I owed has now grown to over $700! Today I texted them to verify my remaining balance (which I thought was $538) and I was told I owe them over $16,000!!!!!!! If you call them and leave a message, if anyone ever returns your call and you can't get to your phone they don't leave you their name or contact info so you can't call them back. I don't call any of this good customer service.

You Should Absolutely Not Bank Here

My debit card information was stolen in Denver, CO, and somebody used an ATM to withdraw over $400 dollars from my account. Adventure let them overdraw my checking, results in more fees for me, and then denied to reimburse my funds. This took them almost 20 days to tell me it would be denied. My roommate had the same thing happen, but uses Lake Michigan Credit Union, and got her funds back the same day. I have a case with the police department in order to fight this.

If you value your money and want protection against fraud, I highly advise you to stay far away from this credit union. I have been with them my entire life, and will be promptly leaving now.

Worst Bank Ever

This is the worst bank I have ever been with. They have good customer service in person but horrible customer service over the phone. They are rude and won’t answer my questions. I was never informed about some of either fees. And how they do them automatically with out my knowledge. Which is bullshit. Taking 30 dollars from my randomly because I over draft. And was like 2$ short. Ever even knew they did that. Then the 5$ they take from me for them automatically pulling money from my savings into my checking. They just keep taking money from me. What the fuck adventure? Worst bank ever. So glad I switched to Huntington so much better.

Nothing But A Hassle

Got an auto loan through them in my name because my boyfriend has no credit. He went in and set up a savings account and signed the paperwork for automatic payments for the truck to come out of his account. He made the first deposit and double checked everything was ok-the lady couldn't find it so I had to go in again and THEN she found it. First auto deduct payment was fine. Boyfriend checks his account and the 2nd payment had not been deducted and it was a day late so he called and the bank transferred the money but said the automatic withdrawal payment was only set up for a time time withdrawal! Are you kidding me-who would make a one time auto payment? He could have made the payment when he deposited it in his account-why would they only set up a one time payment? I was having money direct deposited in my savings there for 2 months but I'm taking that all out today and moving it to one of my other 2 banks where they are not incompetent as I spend a THIRD Saturday there trying to get this BS straightened out. The loan can't be paid off before 6 months without penalty but you can bet I will be transferring the remaining balance to another bank and NEVER doing business with Adventure again as well as warning all my friends and family.

Retired Army

This company made feel as if i was being prepared for collection's. They failed big time to notify me when my first car payment was due 10 days hence. Wanted me to do a credit card cash advance. Finally got my account numbers so i could set it up at my bank. Needless to say, the clerk is not customer friendly. Yes, the 32nd street address.

Option 1 CU Unfair To Old Customers

Watch out if you move out of state and don't close your account.  I called them today to close out my account and was told it had gone dormant and they had charged me 5.00 a month fees and exhausted my funds and then closed the account.  "it was on your statements that you were being charged and the account was being closed"  Now if I had read on my statement that I was being charged for NOT using my account there is no way I wouldn't have closed it right away.  Also they said it had 44.00 in it.  When I moved out of state it had over 100.00 in it.  Of course they kept telling me it was my fault for not reading my statement.  I have worked in the financial industry for over 30 years and there is no way I would not read any statement (if indeed I really got them).  Very poor and condescindiing customer service.  I would think in the interest of customer relations they would have given me the money they basically just took.  It was not like this when it was Bell Com.
