AllSouth Credit Union is offering some competitive CD and IRA CD rates. The best rates require a $100,000 minimum deposit. These include a 2.47% APY 3-year CD, a 2.22% APY 2-year CD and a 1.91% APY 12-month CD. The Jumbo IRA CD yields include 1.91% for 1 year, 2.17% for 18 months and 2.32% APY for 30 months. Lower rates are available for smaller deposits. These rates are listed in the credit union's rates page as of 9/15/2010.
The credit union provides a significant rate bump for larger deposits. The rates for the smallest minimum deposits are about 50 basis points under these jumbo rates. An extra 10 basis points are added with deposits of $10K, $25K, $50K, $75K and $100K. Most institutions don't provide that much reward for larger deposits.
