Arizona Bank & Trust is headquartered in Phoenix and is the 2nd largest bank in the state of Arizona. It is also the 557th largest bank in the nation. It was established in 2003 and as of June of 2022, it had grown to 70 employees at 10 locations. Arizona Bank & Trust has a B+ health rating.
I've banked with AZ B&T for a little over 6 years. I've dealt with most of the behemoth banks during my 20+ years in Arizona (all of which leave little to be desired in my estimation.) Cash Rewards is by far the best personal checking account I've had here-- 1.5% interest on free checking. Also, everything is a breeze with this bank. I very rarely need to see a teller, but if I do, I know I'm not going to wait in a line of 7 or more people. Occasionally there might be one car ahead of me in the drive-thru. Same goes with the customer service queue by phone. Customer service hours aren't 24/7, but I'm good at managing my money and maybe have had to call them once in the past two years. (If you need to contact your bank constantly about various things after business hours, you might want to look elsewhere.) The website looks a bit clunky and dated, but who cares? Wish I found this bank sooner!
I banked with Arizona Bank & Trust for nearly 10 years mostly doing my business banking with this local bank. The customer service reps and tellers were always very nice and courteous. Deposits and withdrawals were done quickly. I like how this bank was never really busy and I could get in and out in under 10 minutes. However I was notified 3 years ago that I was being overcharged for fees on three business checking accounts. The charges were close to $9,000 and they had done an internal review of my accounts and would settle my account if I agreed to fee less banking for 2 years. I could not believe they were overcharging me that much over a span of 2 years. So the last year I actually took a good hard look at the fees they were charging and it came to about $800 in fees a month for 3 accounts. I ended up visiting other local banks and found one that would have my business for about $250 in fees a month. So for anybody who banks with Arizona Bank & Trust please look at the fees you are charged especially if you have business accounts. They charge almost double anybody else and triple in some cases. As for other aspects of the bank their website was terribly outdated and looked bad compared to my other personal checking account bank I do business with. The mobile aspect of this bank was non-existent when I banked with them. I would pass on banking with Arizona Bank & Trust they have good service but their fees, website, and mobile presence leave lots to be desired.
