CERTITICATE OF DEPOSIT SAVER

Posted by: |

I became a member of Azura Credit Union recently. I saw information about them online at Deposit Accounts. I prefer doing business with local banks and credit unions that I can do my investing in person versus online. My concerns with investing my savings and relying on internet transactions for funding them keeps me from doing this. My experience with Azura Credit Union could not be better. Their employees are very easy to do business with. Their current offer on their 3.381% 30 month special bump CD is very near the best rate being offered anywhere online.

Changes, but welcomed

I joined the credit union after obtaining a loan for a motorcycle and decided to move my checking and savings accounts to the same institution as the customer service I had received so far had been so far above average. I was not disappointed. The branches are few and somewhat inconvenient to my work/home; however, their low fees (overdraft fees, check costs, etc.), the interest bearing checking, and the reimbursement of ATM fees made the inconvenient locations a non-issue. It took them awhile to get on board with a decent mobile app that offered mobile deposits, but they did finally offer that option, making the app a breeze to use. The credit union has changed hands a number of times since I first joined, but the employees remain and their steadfast customer service focus makes the changes completely bearable.

Disappointed

I have been with Azura for over 20 years and I loved them before they merged. After the merger it no longer had a local credit union feel. Terrible Customer Service from a call center when I used to be able to just call my branch and speak to whoever answered. In 2016, customer service wouldn't let me opt out of they overdraft protection saying even if my debit card is declined there would still be a fee. 2 years later I find out thats not true, they could have declined my $1 transactions that cost me $24 x 6 in one day.

I used to avoid banks thinking they were for rich people and would charge me a ton of fees. Maybe 20 years ago that was the case but I now have an account with one of those big banks that actually pay me for using my debit card and limit overdrafts to just one fee a day.
