Bossier Federal Credit Union (LA) Has Top Long-Term CD Rates
Bossier Federal Credit Union (Bossier FCU) is currently offering competitive rates on its 24-month CD (1.26% APY) and 36-month CD (1.36% APY). Either CD can be opened with a $1k minimum deposit.
Both CDs are available as IRA CDs (Traditional, Roth, CESA), earning the same APYS with the same deposit requirements.
According to CSR, the Early Withdrawal Penalty for the 24-month CD is 90 days, and 180 days for the 36-month CD. Partial withdrawals are allowed, as long as a $1k minimum balance is maintained. There is a 7-day grace period before a CD or IRA CD automatically renews.
Availability
Headquartered in Bossier City, Louisiana, Bossier Federal Credit Union’s field of membership (FOM) is residency-based, with individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in the Louisiana parishes of Bossier, Caddo, or Webster, eligible to join.
Joining Bossier FCU can be done online, or at any of six Louisiana branches, located in Bossier City (3), Haughton, and Shreveport (2). The branch located in the Federal Building in Shreveport is temporarily closed.
A Share Savings account can be opened with a minimum $5 deposit, but a minimum $300 balance is required to earn monthly dividends.
According CSR, while a Share Savings account can be opened online, CDs cannot. After a new membership is established online, CDs can be opened in-branch, through secure e-mail, or over the phone.

Currently the 18th largest credit union headquartered in Louisiana, Bossier Federal Credit Union has more than 28,400 members and assets in excess of $209 million. Established in 1954, Bossier FCU’s FOM was exclusive to the civilian employees of Bossier Base. There were eight founding members and only share accounts and loans were offered.

a place once so secret that just mentioning it could get you investigated by the FBI, the OSI and a lot of other alphabet soup agencies of the U.S. Government. It was a secret place, a no-go base within Barksdale Air Force Base where atomic components were assembled into the weapons of ultimate destruction, the stuff of nightmares from the Cold War.
