F&A FCU (CA) Continues To Offer Very Competive Rate CDs

POSTED ON BY

Availability: Mainly City and County employees (including uniformed employees) in Southern California

Over the past five years, I’ve written about F&A Federal Credit Union’s (F&A) many competitive Certificates (CDs) and their somewhat restricted field of membership. Good news for F&A members: with increases this week, those rates continue to be among the highest available in California.

All the CDs listed below can be opened with a $1K minimum deposit and there are no maximum balance caps. F&A offers Jumbo CDs that require a $50K minimum, but the APYs are the same as the Regular CDs. All CDs (Regular and Jumbo) are offered as IRAs (Traditional, Roth and SEP), earning the same APYs with the same funding requirements.

For Accounts with a maturity of one year or more, the penalty shall be the lesser of all dividends earned for 180 days on the amount withdrawn, or all dividends earned on the amount withdrawn since date of issuance or renewal.

F & A Federal Credit Union Continues Offering Very Competitive CD Rates

I first wrote about F&A Federal Credit Union (FAFCU) four years ago, listing their many competitive checking, CD and IRA rates, and somewhat restricted membership requirements. Two years later, I updated that posting, (2012) noting FAFCU's continued leading rates. I'm pleased to report that FAFCU still maintains some of the highest CD/IRA rates and has slightly expanded their membership.

All the CDs/IRAs listed below can be opened with a $1K deposit and, according to FAFCU's website, there are no maximum balance caps. An extra feature of the 6-11 Month...

Top Checking & CD Rates at F&A Federal Credit Union in California - Limited Membership

F&A Federal Credit Union continues to offer several very competitive checking, CD and IRA CD rates. I first reported on this credit union in 2010. I haven't been tracking it closely since it has a narrow field of membership. I thought it was worth another post for the few who can qualify to join.

The first noteworthy account is F&A's Hi Yield eChecking Account. It has an APY of 1.26%. This is listed in the credit union's rates page and Hi Yield eChecking page as of 5/7/2012. I don't see any...

F&A Federal Credit Union is offering several very competitive money market, CD and IRA CD rates. I just came across this credit union as I was reviewing a list of California's largest credit unions. Even though it's a large credit union, I'm afraid they don't make it easy to join. F&A's money market account has a yield that ranges from 1.50% APY on balances of at least $2.5K to 1.60% APY for balances over $100K. These yields are listed in the credit union's rates page as of 9/02/2010.
