First National Bank Texas (FNBT) was originally founded in 1901 in Killeen, Texas as the First National Bank of Killeen. Today, the bank serves its customers at over 300 locations throughout Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona.
First National Bank Texas offers a variety of personal depository banking products, including checking accounts, savings accounts, money market accounts, and Certificates of Deposit (CDs). The bank provides both interest and non-interest-bearing checking accounts, including accounts specifically for students or active/retired military personnel, as well as interest-bearing checking accounts with a better interest rate for large balances. First National Bank Texas’s savings and money market accounts also offer higher interest rates for higher account balances. As for CDs, the bank offers both fixed rate and variable rate products, with fixed rate terms ranging from three months to five years. The variable rate CDs can be increased through “add-on” payments at any time.
FNBT offers its personal banking customers access to the following features: direct deposit, online banking, electronic statements, funds transfers, customizable alerts, bill pay, and mobile banking.
Business banking products are also offered, including business checking accounts and business money market accounts. The commercial checking accounts vary based upon business size and transaction volume, with a special option for non-profit organizations and an interest-bearing checking account for businesses that can maintain a certain minimum account balance. Commercial money market accounts offer tiered interest rates, depending upon account balance. First National Bank Texas also provides business customers access to online banking, mobile banking, electronic statements, funds transfers, customizable alerts, and bill pay.
I generally like using 1st convenience bank. The best thing about their hours of operation and the many locations they have. Sometimes I have an sporadic unpredictable schedule and I can usually find a branch open in a store. It was very easy to open an account with them as well. My complaints are about the customer service, I've been told conflicting information by workers there about availability of a wire transfer I was receiving. Also when going into a branch, which are all located inside stores, the wait time can be somewhat, but at the same time there will be employees walking around handing flyers to potential customers. I think they should help there customer first before looking for others. I also don't like the way they hold certain checks, regardless of the fact I've had an account for years. The fees are about the same as other banks, nothing to exorbitant. So over all they meet my basic needs.
If you're account gets hacked on a Saturday or Sunday, you are out of luck until whenever their customer service is available to actually take a call.my account was hacked, put me severely behind on bills and took the bank over 3 FRICKING weeks to get my money back. This bank is joke and has caused so many errors on my account, I highly wonder the mental competency of some of the employees. I highly do not recommend this bank or their services, utterly frustrating and ridiculous service. Messing with a customer's financial well being and lifeline is not a joke and heinous. Their mobile app is almost complete junk.
I guess it’s time to share my story. I was trying to cash a check at Walmart and ended up sitting to open a bank account. I needed a physical bank instead of just Chime or Cashapp. So I open the account and deposit. The temporary card worked so I had no trouble there. I did a mobile deposit which wasn’t approved until the next day and then they decided to hold it for 5 business days. I cashed the entire check through mobile deposit so I had NO money for anything until my next check. I get the debit card in the mail during this time and activate it. I’m told there is an issue and hung up on by the automated system. The card showed as active on my mobile app so I figured it was okay. I go to pay a SUPER important bill with the check that is now cleared and BOTH the temporary card AND the chipped card declined. AGAIN, no access to my money. Now it’s the last day to cover this bill and I have to go straighten this crap out. DONT BANK WITH THEM!! Not freaking worth it.
My father just passed away on Monday. I had deposited a check from our Trust account on Friday. Mind you this is an account that I receive a monthly check from and it is ALWAYS a good check and they make it immediately available. They put a hold on it and are refusing to release the check! I have funeral expenses and I've explained this... they lied yesterday and said the branch mgr would call me. Of course she never did! Six weeks ago, I had Covid and could not go in. They refused to release money that was a temporary hold from a food delivery company even though they had already credited it! They are doing something with our money and are horrible people in general to do this to someone who just lost their father! You should run as fast as you can away from this bank!
