Availability: Residents of Chittenden, Rutland, Washington and Orange Counties, Vermont.

Green Mountain Credit Union (Green Mountain CU) is offering a 60-month Share Certificate (2.529% APY).

The minimum opening deposit is $500 and there is no balance cap.

The 60-month Share Certificate is also available as an IRA (Traditional, Roth, and CESA) at the same APY, with the same funding requirements.

According to CSR, the Early Withdrawal Penalty is 90 days interest.

Availability

Headquartered in South Burlington, Green Mountain Credit Union offers membership primarily based on residency and employment.

Residency: Individuals who live, work, or worship in the Vermont counties of Chittenden, Rutland, Washington and Orange are eligible to join.

Employment: Employees and retirees of the 70+ SEGs qualify for membership.

Relationship: If you are related to any member by birth, marriage, civil union or adoption, or are a household member, you are also eligible for membership.

Joining Green Mountain Credit Union and/or opening a Share Certificate can be done at any of three Vermont branches located in Barre, Rutland, and South Burlington. Currently, the link to the "Secure Online Membership Application" does not work, but CSR stated the "problem is being worked on."
