I will never switch!

Posted by: Slemge | Sep 19, 2016

I have had an account with Heritage Federal Credit Union since I was a kid in school and have stuck by them as a secondary account even when I left Evansville. They have ALWAYS treated me respectfully and have assisted me many times. There have been two times in the last few years where they very much impressed me. I had made rather large purchases, which were definitely made by me. The purchases went through with my debit card just fine, but a member from the bank DID contact me anyway shortly after to ensure that the purchases were accurate because it was unusual activity. There was also a time recently where there was a hold on my account for a purchase that WAS NOT made by me, and a representative took care of it for me very quickly. She actually contacted me back after our initial conversation to let me know that they were looking into it further because it was a strange transaction (just seconds after a purchase that I DID make at the same location). She had the hold removed and I never had the transaction pull from my account. They are an amazing credit union and I will never close my account with them. I recommend them to everyone I know in Evansville.

Extremely Bad Experience

I have a personal horrible experience with Heritage Federal Credit Union related to their fees policy and their customer service. Frankly, I am not sure if they have any staff who cares about the bank’s reputation of keeping their customers. In summary, I have the following comments:
1. fIx your fees policy – If a customer initiate an online payment using your own website (www.hhfcu.org) and no sufficient funds, just don’t try to process the payment. No need to charge them fees, no other bank does. Stop this unfair rule from a bank who cares about theur own customers
2. Upgrade your ATM machines – All banks now have ATM machines that accept cash deposit
3. Transfer Sharon, Montgomery Branch manager, to any clerical job or any other job not dealing with Customer – I went two times to the branch at Middletown (near my work) trying to fix the issue of the fee mentioned above and they sent her emails to contact me but she didn’t. I went for the 3rd time to Montgomery branch to speak with her, she refused speaking to me, open the branch door, asking me to leave while holding the door open and saying that she doesn’t have time to speak with me and she will call me next day. Her behavior was insulting and I told her that if I leave, I will never come back and I am closing my account, she didn’t care and shouted to the teller to close my account. The teller said there is a pending transaction and they have to wait to be posted. Sharon never called – You can refer to the branch cameras if you don’t believe me.
I called the customer service explaining what’s happened and spoke with Gabriel and we agreed that I will deposit whatever funds I owe (which I did) and he will arrange for a manger to credit back my account with the insufficient fund fees and he is going to transfer my profile to the Middletown branch. Nobody take any action, I called last week and the rep sent an email to a manager for contacting me and also she transferred me to their voice machine and I left a message. Nobody called me so I called again on 11/9/17 and they transferred me to Sharon. She was very rude, unprofessional, carless, and liar.
Do yourself a favor and fix the above points, and also please do your internal bookkeeping to fix my account as I am not going to use it again. The only thing that I am regretting is that I choose you as a bank from the beginning.
