4.00% 24-Month CD & 3.75% 18-Month CD at Millennium Bank in Illinois

Millennium Bank is offering several competitive CD rates. The most competitive include a 3.75% APY 18-month CD, a 4.00% APY 24-month CD and a 4.50% APY 60-month CD. Minimum deposit is $1,000. These CDs are also available in an IRA. These rates are listed in the bank's rate table as of 1/07/09.

It's a newly established small community bank located in Des Plaines, Illinois which is the northern suburbs of Chicago. It appears to be a local deal. Note, this bank has no relationship to the foreign Millennium Bank (see post). This Illinois Millennium Bank is FDIC insured (Certificate # 58348).

Update 4/05/08: The CD rates have fallen. Please check the bank's website for the latest rates.

Update 3/08/08: The rate on the 6-month CD rate has fallen from 4.26% to 4.00% APY, and the 60-month CD rate has fallen from 4.50% to 4.25% APY. The title has been modified to reflect this change.
Update 2/16/08: The rate on the 6-month CD has gone down from 4.50% to 4.26% APY. Title has again been modified to reflect this change.

Millennium Bank is offering two special short-term CDs. The first is a 5.55% APY 5-month CD. The minimum deposit is $10,000, and it requires opening a Millennium Free checking account. The other special is a 5.35% APY 6-month CD. This has a minimum deposit of $1,000, and doesn't seem to have the checking account requirement. The maximum deposit for these CDs is $100,000.
