Opened a CD with them on a Friday and then saw the posted rate increase the following Monday morning. Contacted customer service to see if they had any sort of Ally-like best rate guarantee. They don't, but they offered to close and reopen the CD at the higher interest rate with no penalty other than losing the small amount of interest that had accrued over the weekend. It was a quick, easy, and enjoyable customer support interaction, which is rare in the banking world and was very appreciated. Highly recommend!
I moved an Ira from Stinkrony Bank to Nasa. After receiving the request fron Nasa, Stinkrony closed my account, ( no interest bearing ), and 22 days later got the funds to Nasa. Nasa offered without any prompt from me, to give me their newer/higher rate and also make it retroactive to make up for the funds lost due to Stinkrony. That's a bit above board for the current situation with bank failures. So I'm moving more funds there now as well.
Nasa FCU recently "upgraded" me to the new elite checking account. It still pays the same 1% interest but it's confusing as whether or not there is now a $10 per month fee. Does anyone know for sure?
A few months ago, I signed up for their "Premiere eChecking" account which said no monthly fee is charged if you make 3 BillPay payments. So I have been making 3 or more BillPay payments to my credit cards diligently every month. But I noticed that NASA FCU did charge me the $7 the monthly fee the last couple of months of September and October. I tried to dispute this through secure messaging, multiple times, but they just wouldn't acknowledge that they're outright dishonoring what they publicized on their website "No monthly maintenance fee - With direct deposit or BillPay+ and eStatements". The original account description page has vanished mysteriously but it's still recorded on the Wayback Machine site. I always keep screenshots for my records. They employ a very sneaky way to take money from their customers knowing some customers just won't monitor account activities carefully.
