Solidarity (IN) 59-Month CD Special Earns 3.10% APY

Deal Summary: CD Specials – 17-month (2.50%), 37-month (2.90% APY), 59-month (3.10% APY), $500 minimum deposit.

Availability: Residents of Indiana’s Howard and Tipton Counties, select areas in the cities of Peru and Logansport, and Grissom AFB and Metroplex.

Solidarity has a trio of competitive CD Specials: 17-month (2.50%), 37-month (2.90% APY), and 59-month (3.10% APY). Any of the CD Specials can be opened with a minimum $500 deposit, with no stated balance cap.

The 37- and 59-month CD Specials have been part of the product line for more than two years and have experienced four and three rates increases, respectively. The 17-month CD Special was introduced in March 2018 and has had one rate increase, adding 50 bps.

The CD Specials are also offered as IRAs (Traditional, Roth, CESA), earning the same APYs with the same funding requirements.

Early withdrawals are not necessarily guaranteed.

You may make withdrawals of principal from your account before maturity only if we agree at the time you request the withdrawal.

As stated on the Certificate Rates page, Early Withdrawal Penalty reads as follows,

If your account has original maturity of one year, but less than three years: The penalty we may impose will equal 180 days dividends on the amount withdrawn subject to penalty.

If your account has an original maturity of three years or more: The penalty we may impose will equal 270 days dividends on the amount withdrawn subject to penalty.

Excess Share Insurance

Deposits at Solidarity are fully insured up to $500,000: at least $250,000 by the NCUA and $250,000 by Excess Share Insurance, the nation’s largest provider of excess share insurance since 1993.

Members of credit unions using ESI’s excess share insurance can take great comfort in knowing that their savings are safe, and that a portion of their deposits are protected by a well-capitalized credit union-only private insurer.

Availability

Headquartered in Kokomo, Indiana, Solidarity’s field of membership (FOM) is residency based, with individuals who live, work, worship, volunteer, or attend school in Howard or Tipton Counties, eligible to join. Select areas in the Indiana cities of Peru and Logansport (maps provided) also qualify, as does Grissom AFB and Metroplex.

Family members of current Solidarity members are also eligible for membership.

Joining Solidarity and/or opening a CD Special can be done at either of the two Kokomo branches located on N. Dixon Road and E. Southway Boulevard.

Solidarity’s membership application is also available as a download and can be returned by snail-mail. A copy of a valid ID must be included with the application.

The core account of your Solidarity membership, your
Primary Savings account, holds your original $5 deposit.

In addition to participating in the CO-OP Shared Branch and ATM networks, Solidarity is a member of Alliance One, a ATM network with more than 5,000 ATMs nationwide.

Solidarity Community FCU (IN) Offers 13-Month CD Special
Deal Summary: 13-month CD Special, 1.75% APY, $500 minimum deposit.

Availability: Residents of Indiana’s Howard and Tipton Counties, select areas in the cities of Peru and Logansport, and Grissom AFB and Metroplex.

Earlier this month, Solidarity Community Federal Credit Union (Solidarity) raised the rate on its 13-month CD Special (1.75% APY). The minimum deposit is $500, with no stated balance cap.

Solidarity introduced the 13-month CD Special in February, with an initial rate of 0.85% APY. There have been two rate increases, adding a total of 95 bps.
