In celebration of its 80th anniversary, Streator Onized Credit Union (SOCU) is offering 2.38% APY on three different CD Specials: 7-month, 16-month, and 30-month. These limited-time Specials require a $500 minimum opening deposit, with no stated balance cap.
The 7- and 16-month CD Specials are available as IRAs (Traditional, Roth, CESA), earning the same 2.38% APY with the same funding requirements. The 30-month is not offered as an IRA.
As stated in the Truth-in-Savings disclosure, the Early Withdrawal Penalty reads as follows:
The penalty we may impose will equal:
90 days dividends on the principal balance withdrawn, whether earned or not, if the certificate term is one year or less.
180 days dividends on the principal balance withdrawn, whether earned or not, if the certificate term is greater than one year but less than five years.

Founded in 1939, Streator Onized Credit Union’s original FOM included the employees and families of Owens Illinois Glass Company. You won’t find “onized” in any dictionary: Owens-Illinois glass workers were known as “onizers,” a nickname derived from OweNs-IllinoiZ.
