Tech CU's (IN/IL) 50-Month CDs Top The Rates Chart
Earlier this week, Tech Credit Union (Tech CU) raised the rates on all of its 50-month CDs a uniform 10 basis points, with the new rates ranging from 2.00% to 2.27% APY.
Tech CU offers three different varieties for each term length, with Regular & Premium CDs requiring a $1k minimum deposit and Jumbo CDs requiring a $100k minimum deposit.
The Premium CD rates include,
a .125% rate bonus to members who have combined deposit and loan service
balances of $25,000 or more (excluding Premium CDs) or to members who are
60 years or older and maintain a $5,000 balance in Money Market Savings.
Tech CU’s Loyalty CD Rate Bonus offers,
up to a .375% rate bonus on any standard CD term to members with select account relationships.
The .375% rate bonus is broken down into three .125% increments:
- +.125% bonus for active loan
- +.125% bonus for Premium CD eligible members
- +.125% bonus for active Bill Pay service
According to CSR, the Early Withdrawal Penalty for the 50-month CD is 180 days interest.
Availability
Headquartered in Crown Point, Indiana, membership in Tech Credit Union is open to individuals who live or work in Indiana counties of Jasper, Lake, LaPorte, or Newton; the Illinois counties of Grundy or Will; the Illinois cities of Crest Hill, Joliet, or Plainfield; or the greater Calumet City area in Illinois.
Employees and members of more than 570 Corporate Member Groups are also eligible to join, as are their family members.
In addition, family members (blood or marriage) of current Tech CU memberships qualify for membership.
The application process for joining Tech CU and/or opening a CD can be started online, or done in person at any of six Indiana branches located in Crown Point, East Chicago, Gary, Lowell, Merrillville, and Valparaiso or two Illinois branches located in Calumet City and Crest Hill.
