WPCU recently raised interest rate on Truesaver accounts. 5.84% on first $500. I had to do a double take when i saw that posted on their website!
The bank also raised the interest rate on their Visa low rate platinum credit card to 8.50%, which was not surprising given recent interest rate trends. I was hoping to see a rate jump in their savings products and they delivered.
I have been a long time customer and have had nothing but positive experiences.
I have a savings account and car loan from WPCU and couldn't be happier. Their rates are reasonable, the staff is always helpful and friendly and the location is convenient if I ever need to go to the bank proper. I plan on giving them more of my business in the future.
Before banking with Wright Patt Credit Union I banked with a large national bank. My experience with them was generally bad. There were tons of hidden fees, maintenance charges, etc. This is far from the case with Wright Patt Credit Union. Totally free checking at Wright really means totally free. There are no maintenance charges and you are not nickel and dimed. Wright Patt has numerous ATM's throughout the area and if by chance you can't find a Wright Patt ATM they have no ATM fees and will reimburse you for up to $15 dollars a month for the other banks ATM fees! Another great feature about Wright Patt Credit Union is there progressive approach to identity protection. You can not be too safe in this day and age. Wright Patt has always been proactive instead of reactive in these situations. Some other things to love about Wright Patt Credit Union are there always friendly associates and also there unconventional hours(many locations open on Sunday and extended hours on Saturdays). Looking back I do not know how I ever banked somewhere else!
They used to be a good bank but have definitely fallen off. They care more about the money than helping their own customers out. They've sent me debt cards where the strip wears out in a month. Then you can never get customer service on the phone. Between having bad business hours and having a long wait time for calls. Plus they don't help their customers out when they have legitimate probelms
