Community Bank of Nevada has recently cut its CD rates, but the rates remain very competitive. These include a 3.03% APY 9-month CD and a 3.15% APY 12-month CD. Minimum deposit is $1,000, and terms of 12 months and over are also available as an IRA. Below is a summary of the CD rates and terms as listed in the bank's rate table as of 3/24/09:
It appears a branch visit is required to open accounts. Branches are located in Las Vegas, Henderson, and Pahrump, Nevada.
The bank's ratings for soundness are weak: 3 stars (performing) at Bankrate (based on 9/30/08 data) and 0 stars (lowest) at BauerFinancial (based on 12/31/08 data). The Bauer rating had been 2 stars when it was based on 9/30/08 data. The bank has been FDIC insured since 1995 (FDIC Certificate # 34043).
