Kaiser Credit Union is offering a 5.75% APY 12-month IRA certificate of deposit. The minimum is $500, and it requires a checking account. This special does not seem to be listed at the credit union's website. It was advertised in the San Francisco newspaper on 2/28. The ad is available online here.
Kaiser does have a free checking account, however, it requires a regular monthly deposit of $50 or more.
Last year Kaiser was advertising special 6.25% 9-month CD's with a $5K cap.
Field of membership includes anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in the Alameda and Contra Costa County area as well as their family members. Membership requires a $25 minimum deposit in the share savings account. The credit union is located in Oakland, California.
The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA. It has $37.6 million in assets and 3,947 members.
