5.54% 12-Month CD at a Texas Credit Union (Gulf Coast)

Gulf Coast FCU is offering a 5.54% APY 12-month share certificate. The minimum deposit is $500. It's also available as an IRA certificate. The special doesn't seem to be listed at the credit union's website. It was advertised in yesterday's Corpus Christi newspaper. The ad is available online here.

Membership is available to those who live, work, worship or attend school in the Nueces, Jim Wells or San Patricio County. Membership requires a one-time fee of $2.50 and a $5 minimum deposit into the share savings account.

Branches are located in Corpus Christi and Alice, Texas. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 4060). It has $53.8 million in assets and 8,588 members.
