Scott Credit Union

Update 2/2/08: The CD rates have fallen. Please check the credit union's website for the latest rates.

Scott Credit Union is offering very high yields on its 36-month share certificate. The yields include 5.10% APY for a $1,000 minimum, 5.26% APY for a $50K minimum and 5.31% APY for a $100K minimum. I called the credit union today, and I was told that these rates are still valid. New rates are usually posted on Wednesdays.

This credit union also has a high yield reward checking account. I first posted on this reward checking account in September 2007. The reward checking account yield has remained at 6.05% APY for balances up to $25K.

Membership is open to anyone living or working in Monroe, Madison, St. Clair, Randolph, Perry, Franklin, Jefferson, Washington, Clinton, Marion and Bond counties in Illinois. Please see their eligibility page for more details. Membership requires a $50 minimum deposit into the savings account.

Branches are located in several cities of southwest Illinois including Fairview Heights, Collinsville, O'Fallon, Waterloo and Highland. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 66370). It has $382.3 million in assets and 58,544 members.
