4.30% 9-Month CD at a Virginia Bank (Millennium).

Millennium Bank is offering a special 4.30% APY 9-month CD. The minimum deposit is $5,000, and it must be new money.

According to the rate table, "New Accounts will be opened only for accounts in the following areas: Virginia, Maryland & DC."

Branches are located in the Virginia cities of Reston, Herndon, Sterling and Warrenton.

This Millennium Bank should not be confused with the offshore non-FDIC Millennium Bank that I researched in 2005. This Virginia Millennium Bank is a US bank that has been FDIC insured since 1999 (FDIC Certificate # 35096). It appears to be a healthy bank from its financial ratings: 4 stars (sound) from Bankrate.com and 3 stars (adequate) from BauerFinancial. Both are based on 3/31/08 data.
