15-Month CD with Yields from 4.15% to 4.30% at Security Service FCU in TX and CO

Security Service Federal Credit Union has a certificate of deposit promotion with some competitive rates for a 15-month term. The yields vary based on the balance:
  • 4.15% APY $500 to $25K
  • 4.20% APY $25K to $50k
  • 4.25% APY $50K to $100K
  • 4.30% APY $100K+
This CD is also available as an IRA certificate. The rates are listed in the rates table (pdf) as of 11/28/08.

Membership is open to those who live, work or worship in Texas counties of Medina, Atascosa, Uvalde or South Bexar in addition to other areas. In Colorado the eligible counties include El Paso, Pueblo and Denver. There are several groups which can also qualify you for membership including the UT at San Antonio Alumni Association and the FiftyPlus Club. Please refer to the credit union's membership page for more details. Membership requires a $5 minimum deposit into a share savings account.

Branches are located in the Texas cities of San Antonio, Schertz and Boerne, and in the Colorado cities of Colorado Springs, Denver, Fountain and Pueblo. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 11065). It's a large credit union with $4.8 billion in assets and 675,797 members.
